What ChatGPT can do
We checked OpenAI's own pages in November 2026. This changes quickly, so look at the current details before you rely on it.
- Plan your app and write the code for it
- Build and host a site or web app through Sites, which OpenAI's help pages say is included with ChatGPT Plus and Pro
- Explain what the code does and help you fix errors
Where it gets harder
OpenAI says Sites does not support every framework, database, background service or hosting pattern, so a bigger app may not fit. If you use ChatGPT only to write code, you still have to put that code online, set up a database, and connect sign ups and payments yourself.
When ChatGPT is the better choice
- You already pay for it and want a quick tool or a simple page
- You want to learn how the code works
- You want to think through the idea before building anything
When a dedicated app builder fits better
An app builder is made for the whole job, from the first sentence to a live address. CreonAI writes the code in front of you, checks its own work and puts it online. Apps can have sign ups, a database and Stripe payments, connected to your own Supabase and Stripe accounts, so your data stays in your account.
The catches with CreonAI
- A free app carries a small badge and goes to sleep after 7 days. It is never deleted, and upgrading wakes it up
- A bigger app can take more than one day of free credits, or a paid plan
- It builds web apps that open in a browser. It cannot build a signed download for the Play Store or the App Store
How to try it
Many people plan an idea in ChatGPT and then want it built. Press the button on this page, paste your plan in, and watch it build. You do not need an account to try it.
